Why Shouldn't Churches Religions & Related Entities Be Taxed?
A VERY THOROUGH check of the Constitution will show that Churches are not guaranteed"tax-exempt status in the Constitution, despite an above posters' bold ertion. The status is granted by the legislators,NOT guaranteed by the Constitution. It can also be revoked by legislation also. I believe we will see a trend in the revoking of the "tax-exempt" status as more an more churches choose to use their pulpit for political influence. I personally think that is a good thing. There has been enough "pandering" on the part of politicians to the religious wing, and people are getting tired of preachers getting into politics. I do think soon we will see a change in the tax codes to revoke their tax-exempt status. As it should be revoked
