Help with breaking a lease in Georgia?

Because the landlord cannot control what is going on in front of your property there isn't really anything you can do. I would contact the landlord and tell him that you do not feel safe in the area and see if he will let you out of the lease. As a landlord I often release tenants from their lease for things like job transfer, money issues etc without a penalty as long as the tenant gives me enough notice and forfeits the security deposit.
