Stainless Steel Appliances = Higher Home Value?

Personal preference and good taste prevail. Countertops that have a wide appeal (Corian, neutral marble, etc) and quality increase the appraisal more. And yes, If its ugly, then it lowers value. (sorry sellers.. :( The Stainless steel appliances will hold higher percentange of return on cost since that is a trend now. It wont increase the actual HOME appraised value IMHO. Commercial grade will be even a higher return.
