Heck no don't settle, girl. Can you say "pre-divorce period of your life?" You've only been on your own a year!! Have you ever been able to BE ALONE and get to know YOU, do you and find out what you really want? It doesn't SOUND like it? What's your spiritual base like, girlie? Don't you know that you get what you expect? You train the world how to treat you by what you're attracted to, your character, your beliefs and what you are or aren't willing to SETTLE for. So, fall back a minute. Make a list and take things easy. You are still young and have time. That's right, you're young. Stop and think and believe that you can have the right person, not just the one that was the least messed up. You can do better. I did.
