The McCann's - what about the friends children??

I know they went on holiday with 3 other couples and at least 1 other child (walking up the steps with Madeleine to the aeroplane). I just wondered do we know if the other couple left their child/children on their own as well, or were they with them, did they get a babysitter etc. I've not heard anything about this and not read about it either.
