How do I subtly ask my dad this question?

Well, a friend of his that I met for about 5 minutes on the street invited us over for dinner (no, she's not a prostitute). The problem is I'm terrified of going over to people's houses becase of my intense phobia of dogs. Ever since I was nearly attacked by an aggressive mastiff, I've been terrified of going anywhere withought a no- dogs- allowed sign.He thinks that its just adolecent social anxiety because I cant tell him about my fear. How can I ask him if his friend has a dog without being obvious. In other words, how can I phrase this question: "Hey Dad, does M.J. have a dog?" without showing my true reasoning.
